Salutations

Salutations! Or would you rather I just say a simple hello?

Personally I think salutations is a fantastic word. Salutations is an expression of good will, and a gesture of respect and acknowledgement. It can also be used as a farewell. Salutations is a word that isn't used nearly as often as it should be. It makes the English language beautiful, and it's one of my favorite words. But I have many favorite words that I could write endlessly about. I digress.

As for me, today was my last day of high school. And a crazy, totally insane day it was. But not for the reasons you think. I forgot my poetry final at home, of all things. I had to look up the final on my phone-since it was shared with me online-and write down the answers in my yearbook so that I could type the answers on the computer after class. Somehow I still managed to finish the final, print it, and hand it into my teacher right before the deadline. Still got an A. I didn't even have to pay a library fine. Despite the craziness of almost failing an easy class, it was a memorable day. My school even played dramatic Star Wars music as the seniors left the building to play outside. Can't beat that. Not to mention I got to visit the "dungeon" underneath the school yesterday.

Yes, my school really does have a dungeon. I got to sign my name on a wall where someone wrote "welcome to Narnia". I don't want to know why my school has a dungeon. I was afraid to ask any questions.

It's odd to think that it's been four years already. I am never going to another homecoming bonfire again. And I'm not going to see a group of boys trying to barbecue hot dogs on a ten foot pole, or see a cross country runner dress up as Jesus and body surf during the winter formal dance. That being said...graduating still doesn't feel real to me. I know that I'll never relive those moments, see the same people, but it just hasn't hit me yet. Although I'm not feeling terribly emotional at the moment, I'm sure I'll be that one awkward kid crying as I'm walking to receive the diploma.

In the meantime,
Salutations dear Reader!

Where's the Post?

I just spent the last 30 minutes watching a children's show. No, I wasn't babysitting. Yes, it was because I was avoiding my Economics homework. Yes, I am slightly brain dead because of prom. Conclusion? We need adult Blue's Clues.

And yes, I'm serious.

Exhibit A: Personal Finance
Can you find the tax deduction, kids? Blue has gotten herself into a contract, and now she wants out of it. Can you help her find a loop hole?

Here's the mail! It makes me wanna wag my tail! Kids, it's mail time. When it comes I wanna wail...BILLS!
Hey look.
It's a letter from the collection agency.

Exhibit B: When You Write a Terrible In-class Essay But Then Get A Good Grade
You see my brain? Where?

Exhibit C: Everyday Life
Blue, where are my socks? I can't find them. You didn't eat them again, right?

Exhibit D: Other TV Shows
Blue, we gotta find the last Avatar!

Exhibit E: Driving Places
Blue, why don't you have a clue? We're no where near the store. Where the heck are we? Blue!

Exhibit F: Solving Life's Problems
I'll just sit in my chair here and think....thiiiink....thiiiiiiiiiiink......THINK DARN IT!

Actually, we really don't need an adult Blue's Clues. We just need Blue.

Introduction

Welcome to my amazing, out-of-this-world blog. Wait. What's a blog? You're moving too fast here, North. You've already lost me. And what's this about this blog being amazing? I just started reading this thing. Jeez.

It's okay Reader, allow me to explain. You wanted to know what a blog is? I'll tell you. Actually, seeing as I'm too lazy to come up with my own creative definition I'll let Urban Dictionary do the work for me. Urban Dictionary defines a blog as "a place where people (enter curse word here) about their daily activities which nobody is interested in. Topics like why they argue with boyfriend and how they end up together at last, daily anorexic activities like drinking organic fruits and vegetables for breakfast, lunch and dinner, talking about cutting themselves with a razor blade and how good they felt, (enter yet another curse word here) about their shopping activities and what they got."

So Reader, welcome to the 21st century as defined by the all-knowing and reliable Urban Dictionary. There you go.

Hey, hold on for just a minute! Don't click off of this blog quite yet. I assure you this blog is nothing of the sort. I love reading romance books as much as the next teenage girl, but I think I'll leave the lovey-dovey "do I dazzle you?" and "you're intoxicated by my very presence" to Bella and that sparkling fairy vampire in Twilight.

As for the rest, that's not me. This blog is my journal. But don't expect me to write about the latest drama in my life or OMGguysIboughtnewnailpolishIloveitsooomuch!!! Rather, I'll write about my thoughts and things in my life that I think are valuable or interesting enough to share. Yes, they may be random. But I promise, this blog isn't an Urban Dictionary blog.

North

Oh, so you thought this was the end of my post. Ha! No, it's not. Sorry to disappoint you.

Um, well actually I don't really have much else to say. So...uh...congratulations Reader! You finished reading the first post of Name Was Stolen. Here's a cookie. Enjoy.
